Gambler 500

Originating in 2014, the Gambler 500 sprang from the ambition of fourteen friends, each purchasing a $500 junk car, fixed up to endure a 500-mile rally through Oregon's rugged terrain. Since its inception, the event has swelled in attendance, drawing thousands.

Beyond mere thrills, the Gambler 500 has evolved into a charitable venture, a nonprofit dedicated to cleansing U.S. public lands of debris, from discarded lawnmowers to forsaken boats.

Learning of these noble endeavors sparked an irresistible urge within me to join the wild festivities in my home state.

The event surpassed expectations. Amidst Oregon's lush woods, enthusiasts proudly flaunted their customized vehicles, offering shots and camaraderie. An F-150 truck towed an abandoned RV, reminiscent of "Breaking Bad," while motorcycles soared over makeshift ramps, igniting untamed excitement.

From this whirlwind of energy, I carried with me the Gambler's mantra: ABG – Always Be Gambling.
